Corel Draw - Convert Text to CurvesHome >
My Help Pages > Corel Draw > Convert Text to
Curves Wether it be for text or a shape of any kind, the convert to curves function in Corel Draw This tutorial will help you with sending files to others without loosing fonts that may have been used and also will help with manipulating shapes when designing your masterpiece. Step 1. Select the 'type tool' (F8) from your toolbar.
Click anywhere on your page. Now you can start typing away. Step 2. When you have finished typing, select your 'pick tool' and select the text you have just typed. Step 3. Now select the 'wireframe' tab so you can view the
skeleton of your text.
With wire frame on the text looks like it is made up from its own shapes. This is true, but Corel is still drawing in the font from your fonts directory making the artwork dependent on your system. Step 4. Now lets turn your text into curves so the type is not dependent on any fonts that may be on your system.
While you are in 'wireframe' you can see how your text changes slightly when converted to curves. This is because your text is now made up from 'nodes' or 'anchor points'. Every node gives each line the direction and shape needed to form different shapes.
