RSS Screenshots Troubleshooting

Downloading and installation should be very simple, however, if you run into problems, there are a few quick steps to check.

Choose the correct version dependent on your browser style or computer format. Eg. Windows, Mac etc.

The file to download is an executable file. It is not zipped or compressed. Just click to start transferring the files to an 'auto install' that operates under windows.

Why we chose this format ?

The JRE runtime is latest development and you will see lots of applications using the technology. It runs auto site pages, Mythis, Mythat pages etc. The level of security is enhanced by java.com and more web applications will become available to you.

Sun Java will ask if you also want to Install Google Desktop, Uncheck or Check, it will not affect the performance of the reader.

If you have any doubts or technical questions, please ask your network administrator to evaluate the program.

Windows

The installation of Java.com means that all versions of Windows will now operate the Reader as a compatible program.

To Install for Windows, Click on the 'Download for PC' Button and follow the prompts. 1st page

The file to download is .exe save to your main drive / program files. This will allow a total uninstall if you decide to remove later.

Troubleshooting / check you have downloaded the file in full / check you have downloaded the correct JRE Runtime environment from java.com / check you have installed the program and agreed to opensource licence / check you have created a desktop icon / check you have opened the correct program / check forums /

Security settings of Browser: Check your various browser settings such as new window, sounds, etc. The internal features of RSSOwl use common window functions.

Tips: The software is made for accessibility, so you may want to change around things such as Font Sizes, HOTkeys etc. Restore to default options are included.

Mac

The file to download is .dmg

Macintosh Computers will recognize the .dmg components and begin installation with prompts. 1st page

If you are having difficulty using a Mac install, please retry. Install problems on Mac are very rare. Ensure you have completed Step 1. from Java.com and have chosen the correct format for your OS

Linux

Ensure you have completed Step 1. from Java.com

Linux based servers require a more detailed knowledge than PC or Mac private users, please pass on the Linux Download Page to your server administrator for evaluation.
The file for download is a Tar.gz file 1st page that will require unzipping/stuffit format into the drive that contains any desktop programs and access to web applications and internet connection.

If you choose to download the Linux version, please work with your administrator.

The RSS ATOM RDF XML program includes all features as 'open' and installed with no time or expiry limits. If you install from australiasigns, it is a new, clean install of a stable version.

Note: we have gained permission from the developer under a common opensource license. We have paid for the privileges offered to you so you dont need to. Thanks to the boss for this one.

The donate window will only open once at the beginning of install and never again.
