How this plastic signage panel is made !
Delivery Point: Melbourne Collins Street, Victoria
Acrylic plastic backing panel with vinyl trimmed letters. This panel has
flame polished edges after trimming the plastic. There is a video you can
view (here)
that explains more about polishing. The lettering is cut via a plotter
machine.

Using a oxy cutter with a low heat flame temperature, the edge of the
plastic is softened, when cool, the saw or router cuts are smoother and back
to original clear status. The picture is of a special 'imitation sandblast'
plastic. It looks great for making signage. More pictures of
Sandblasted Effect Signage can be
seen here > Why flame the edges of the signage panel? The sawn
edges look ok, however, by adding this slightly extra cost, the plastic
takes on a more glass look. Very impressive. The flame
is a mixture of Acetylene and Oxygen. The same mix of gases
used to cut large steel panel pre laser machining.

The adhesive letters are cut on a plotter, (not laser) and the
joining sections of the maple leaf and LGC and The Lead Generation Company
Melbourne words are lines that form a path for the knife head to transverse.
The underside you can see is a protective paper tape. (by the way, they are
a great company that assist businesses) Being
removed from the panel/letters is a lower tacking paper gum
film that holds each letter in 'spacing' position before being rubbed onto
the plastic panel. This can be sent to you via what we call 'Do It Yourself
Vinyl Letters, or the team can compose and fabricate the signage for you.

Another example with raised and sandblasting effect
backing.

This a photo of the finished sign. The Laser Cut Sign here
is Poly welded reversed colored and glued tot the Sandblasting effect panel.
The Edges of the letters are slightly polished and give a great light
transmission effect. The sign would be mounted to the wall by the customer
with the stand off pins supplied.
This office sign in Sydney looks great and is very easy to put up.
