The best way to find and combine colors is to use our online color charts. We color corrected the values of the color chips for onscreen use so you can cut and paste into your software and then use the color picker of your software to get them right.

Once you have a few color chips, mix them up until you get a suitable feel for your designs. We dont offer opinions often, as nearly everything we do in different. We also have an article named Why Colors Look Different, in short, inks, digital, screen, vinyls etc all operate differently so we suggest you pick common values. Then you can use the same color for lots of business applications.

You cant color pick the Pantone Chips from our pages, there are just too many. We recommend you purchase the Official Pantone Color Books from them. www.pantone.com

When choosing color combinations for signage, consider the following points:

Background colors - Choose a color that is shown above that is either far right or far left. All mid range colors are difficult to achieve contrast in lettering, sign clarity or signage legibility.
Lettering colors - Choose a color that is directly opposing your background color. Avoid using colors for lettering or logos that retain similar impact values.
If you choose a white background, this is generally the better color for clarity and allows you to achieve uniformity across your whole business communication.
GOLDEN RULE:
"If it looks right, it is right..."
If you apply this rule to all designs and color schemes your signage will be dramatically improved.

Trade Term: Contrast

Contrast in signage is related to the impact value, legibility and clarity of your message. Choose colors that oppose each other in the color range.
Remain unique in your designs and achieve maximum contrast by carefully selecting color combinations. Your colors are a money making effort. Place maximum importance on picking colors.

If your business is well established and contains historical color schemes, carefully look at the clarity and impact of your

New Company vs. Old Company

An important advertising principle is to keep images and messages fresh, up-to date and powerful.
For new companies this is easy, for older companies with well established logos and color schemes, updating your image is an important decision.
However, it must be completed. As markets become modern and wiser, people remain attracted to the 'new'.

Consider how to modernize your logos / images / color schemes without detracting from your original business logos more than 20%.

Businesses that understand the need to keep updating the logos / images and upgrade the expression of their business never lose. Take a look at your bank. Same Bank, but it always appear something new is happening.

---------------------------------------------

Timeline of upgrading logos - Generally, we have noted that successful businesses upgrade or modernize their appearance every 6 to 8 years
