Selling Tips

If you wish to advertise your products and services for sale, there are a number of tips you should put to practice in order to get a quick sale and maximum value out of your advertisement.

1. Short precise ads work better. Use large headlines and pictures that are accurate for the product.

2. Your goal should only be to get the prospective customer to contact you for more information. Have your team ready.

3. Use action words (i.e. Now, Amazing, Attractive, Short Time Only, etc.). These words call the customer to do something.

4. Make your product appear unique to all other product available.

5. DO NOT try to sell your customer on your product in your ad. Better to lead them to you.

6. Spark an interest or curiosity in your advertisement.


It's your money, so sit back and make lots of considerations.

It this wise? Will it return? Should I try a different medium? Will this work?

Marketing a business amongst hundreds of others will need something special to make you stand out. Read lots of other posts in the Ideas Centre to apply more than one avenue of marketing.

A great tip I got was to 'mimic' your customer. If they talk quickly, you should talk quickly. If they talk slowly, you should talk slowly. This allows the customer to create a 'bond' with you as a sales person and allows them to think - He/She reminds me of myself 10/20 years ago...............

Tip 2. BODY LANGUAGE! approx 93% of all communication is non verbal. As you are talking to your 'potential' customer closely watch there body language. This will alow you to see whether you are saying/doing the right or WRONG things. Good body language = eye contact, chest puffed out and arms open in front of the body. BAD body language = arms crossed and closed, shoulders shrugged and eyes looking down to the ground........

A fun little demonstration of how body language and verbal language are directly related is to think of your body language when you win $1,000,000 in the lottery!!! Excited, open and very receptive. Then using that SAME body languge (jumping around happy and excited!!!) try to tell someone that your best friend ('maka' your goldfish of 5 years) has just passed away......................... It is VERY difficult for your body and mind to differentiate the two............ The same is for your your potential customers. You want them to win your lottery, by purchasing your products/services.
